the S.T.A.R. device. The S.T.A.R. (Suture Tension Adjustment
Reel) is a simple and very effective closure device that has
proven itself to be the most effective and minimally invasive
method available to close open wounds effectively and rapidly
by applying light tension to wound margins. Comprised of an
Anchor and a Winder Reel, joined by a horizontal mattress suture,
the ST.A.R. methodically and gradually stretches tissue by applying
tension from outside the wound margins, assuring 100% full fascia
closure and leaving the wound bed free and clear for normal
wound treatment, debridement, and care.
The
S.T.A.R. device is a sterile, single use, Class I, FDA accepted,
device. It has been used clinically with great success on
chronic wounds and in trauma, cardiothoracic, general, orthopedic,
